About the Role Our client, a vibrant non-profit organization in Denver, Colorado , is seeking a talented and energetic Event Planner and Coordinator. This hybrid role will be instrumental in conceptualizing, organizing, and executing a variety of fundraising events, community gatherings, and awareness campaigns. You will manage all aspects of event planning, from initial budgeting and vendor selection to on-site execution and post-event analysis. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, budget, and manage all logistics for various events, including fundraising galas, conferences, workshops, and community outreach activities in Denver, Colorado . Source and negotiate with vendors, including venues, caterers, audio-visual providers, and decorators, to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Develop event timelines and project plans, ensuring all deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently. Coordinate event promotion and marketing efforts, working with the communications team to maximize attendance and engagement. Manage event registration processes and attendee communications. Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, providing on-site support and problem-solving as needed. Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and analyzing financial performance to identify areas for improvement. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, venue contacts, and community partners. Assist in developing and managing the event budget, ensuring all financial targets are met. Stay up-to-date with event industry trends and best practices to enhance event experiences. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a non-profit or agency setting. Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, from conception to completion. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Creative thinking and a passion for creating memorable event experiences. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Knowledge of the Denver, Colorado event landscape and vendor community is advantageous. Benefits This contractor position offers a competitive annual rate, typically between 55000 and 65000 dollars, depending on experience and the scope of events managed. The hybrid work arrangement offers flexibility between remote planning and on-site event execution. While this is a contract role, there may be opportunities for professional development depending on project scope.
