Location: Houston, Texas or Dallas, Texas Hartline Barger LLP, a nationally recognized trial law firm specializing in civil litigation, is seeking attorneys with 4+ years of litigation experience to join our growing Houston and Dallas offices. Insurance Defense, Construction Defect and Personal Injury experience a plus. Interested candidates may submit their resume along with a writing sample to [email protected] Responsibilities: • Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediation with witness responsibility • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients • Advise clients on business and legal transactions • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes • Comply with all legal standards and regulations • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school • Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing • Previous experience in a Law Firm environment • Ability to take and defend depositions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to build rapport with clients • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Benefits: • Generous Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, LTD/STD • HSA Plan with monthly employer contribution for the HDHP Insurance Plan • Employer-sponsored 401(k) Plan with match • Paid Parking in Adjacent Garage • State Bar Dues, Continuing Education paid by Employer Job Requirements • Strong academic and litigation background • Exceptional writing and advocacy skills • Independently manage a caseload – from beginning to end • Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on multitude of legal projects • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions • Take the lead with client communication and provide meaningful updates • 4+ years experience with insurance defense, construction defect and personal injury preferred
