KOHO is looking for a Financial Risk Strategy & Analytics Manager to join our Risk team as a key individual contributor. In this role, you will be the analytical engine behind our financial risk management, owning the models, forecasts, and reporting that safeguard KOHO’s portfolio.
Working closely with Finance, Product, and Data teams, you will turn complex data into actionable insights, ensuring our growth is resilient and compliant.
Forecasting & Provisioning: Own the development and execution of short- and long-term delinquency and loss forecasting models. Calculate Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and drive the monthly provisioning process in strict accordance with IFRS 9 standards.
Stress Testing: Design and execute comprehensive stress testing scenarios to assess portfolio resilience under various scenarios.
Portfolio Monitoring: Lead the monitoring of portfolio health, identifying emerging trends and risks through rigorous analysis of internal performance data and external macroeconomic indicators.
Impact Assessment: Partner with Product and Marketing to assess the credit risk impact of new initiatives, quantifying potential effects on delinquency, losses, and provisions before launch.
Market & Liquidity Risk: Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting frameworks for non-credit financial risks, including interest rate, market, and liquidity risk. Perform a second line of defense role in understanding and challenging the data, models, and assumptions used in risk assessments.
Stress Testing: Execute stress tests for non-credit risks to ensure KOHO maintains adequate liquidity and capital buffers in line with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
Reporting & Insights: Produce high-quality reporting for the Board and senior leadership, translating complex analytical results into clear, strategic recommendations.
Data Strategy: Collaborate with Data Analytics and Data Science to enhance data pipelines and infrastructure, identifying new data sources, and ensuring the integrity and availability of risk data.
Strategic Partnership: Work closely with Finance on capital planning and economic forecasting, and with Product to optimize credit strategies based on risk-adjusted returns.
5-7+ years of experience in financial risk management, with deep hands-on experience in retail credit risk analytics, loss forecasting, and/or treasury risk.
Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or SAS for data manipulation and modeling. Solid understanding of IFRS 9 standards and ECL methodologies.
Analytical Rigor: You can independently build complex models, perform root cause analysis, and quality-check your own work to a high standard.
Risk Knowledge: Familiarity with market and liquidity risk concepts, ALM (Asset Liability Management), and stress testing frameworks.
Communication: You can tell a story with data, clearly explaining technical risk concepts and their business implications to non-technical stakeholders.
Builder Mindset: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you often need to build tools and processes from scratch.
The budgeted salary range for this role is $125,000-$160,000 CAD / year.

Analytique du risque de crédit et prévisions
Développer et exécuter des modèles de prévision des retards de paiement et des pertes à court et à long terme
Calculer les pertes de crédit attendues (ECL) et piloter le processus mensuel de provisionnement selon les normes IFRS 9
Concevoir et réaliser des scénarios de stress testing pour évaluer la résilience du portefeuille
Assurer le suivi de la santé du portefeuille en identifiant les tendances et risques émergents à partir de données internes et d’indicateurs macroéconomiques
Collaborer avec les équipes Produit et Marketing pour évaluer l’impact des nouvelles initiatives sur le risque de crédit (retards, pertes, provisions) avant leur lancement
Gestion des risques financiers non liés au crédit
Développer et maintenir des cadres de suivi et de reddition de comptes pour les risques de marché, de taux d’intérêt et de liquidité
Jouer un rôle de deuxième ligne de défense en analysant et en remettant en question les modèles, données et hypothèses utilisés dans les évaluations de risques
Réaliser des tests de résistance liés aux risques non crédit afin d’assurer des niveaux adéquats de liquidités et de capital, conformément aux exigences réglementaires
Collaboration transversale et génération d’insights
Produire des rapports de haute qualité pour le conseil d’administration et la haute direction
Traduire des analyses complexes en recommandations stratégiques claires et actionnables
Collaborer avec les équipes d’analytique et de science des données pour améliorer les pipelines et l’infrastructure de données
Identifier de nouvelles sources de données et assurer l’intégrité et la disponibilité des données de risque
Travailler étroitement avec Finance sur la planification du capital et les prévisions économiques
Collaborer avec Produit pour optimiser les stratégies de crédit selon les rendements ajustés au risque
Ton profil
Expérience et formation
5 à 7 ans ou plus d’expérience en gestion des risques financiers
Forte expertise pratique en analytique du risque de crédit de détail, en prévision des pertes et/ou en gestion des risques de trésorerie
Baccalauréat ou maîtrise dans un domaine quantitatif (mathématiques, statistiques, économie, finance, génie) ou expérience équivalente
Compétences et aptitudes
Solide maîtrise de SQL, Python ou SAS pour la manipulation de données et la modélisation
Bonne compréhension des normes IFRS 9 et des méthodologies ECL
Capacité à bâtir des modèles complexes de façon autonome et à effectuer des analyses approfondies
