They are seeking a Junior Electrical Designer/Drafter to join their Power and Transportation Business Unit, where the role involves developing and preparing engineering designs and sketches in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare both formal engineering designs and sketches, including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment general arrangements
- Learn quickly and adapt to a variety of project assignments
- Be self-motivated as well as collaborate in a team of engineers and other design professionals
- Read and write technical memos and reports fluently
- Make short-term site visits as required
Skills
- Certificate or diploma in drafting or design from a Canadian accredited program
- New-grad to two years' experience in electrical design and drafting
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2023 or newer, including use of layers and naming conventions as required by drafting standards
- Familiar with spreadsheets including Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills
- Possess a valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license
- Understanding of utility or industrial designs
