The Energy Strategy Associate will support the execution of energy strategies across data center developments, conducting analyses of power markets and utility environments to inform decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Support development and execution of energy strategies that enable delivery of power infrastructure for new data center campuses
- Conduct analysis of power markets, utility territories, and grid infrastructure to inform siting and development decisions; leverage third party siting tools to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support evaluation of load interconnection pathways, including timelines, risks, and cost drivers across utilities
- Develop analytical models to estimate cost of power, infrastructure requirements, and key commercial considerations across markets
- Compile and maintain insights on utility processes, transmission constraints, substation capacity, and generation buildout
- Track market activity, including hyperscaler and developer expansion, and monitor regulatory and tariff developments impacting large loads
- Support cross-functional teams in project diligence, site evaluation, and energy-related decision-making
- Prepare clear, structured materials and insights to support internal strategy discussions and external engagements
Skills
- Bachelor?s degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, economics, finance, business, or similar)
- 1?4 years of experience in energy markets, utilities, infrastructure, consulting, or a related analytical field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel (Python or similar tools a plus)
- Ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems and communicate insights clearly and concisely
- Interest in power markets, grid infrastructure, and large-scale energy use cases such as data centers
- Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Familiarity with U.S. power markets, utility rate structures, or interconnection processes
