This is a remote opportunity supporting outpatient medical coding services. Candidates must have strong experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCP. The role involves accurate and efficient coding of medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Ideal candidates will have a keen eye for detail and excellent analytical skills. Position Overview The Medical Coder will review electronic health record documentation and assign appropriate diagnosis, procedure, and service codes. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet production and quality standards in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Review outpatient medical records and assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Apply current coding guidelines, payer rules, and compliance standards. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and code support. Identify documentation gaps, duplicate encounters, or coding issues. Support coding quality, re-review, and correction workflows. Meet required turnaround times and productivity expectations. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and healthcare information. Complete required onboarding, privacy, security, and compliance training. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience. Experience with outpatient coding. Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding. Active coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent AHIMA/AAPC credential. Ability to work remotely in a secure and professional environment. Strong written communication and documentation skills. Must be physically located in the United States.
