The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for securing new acquisitions and expanding revenue within existing customers, utilizing strategic pricing expertise and collaboration with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Targets new business opportunities by identifying potential new customers and growing revenue, conducting background research on potential customers, discussing the customer’s supply chain with decision makers and other appropriate customer representatives, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing transportation and digital value propositions and customized pricing
- Maintains regular and consistent communication with manager and peers within the Sales organization, related to joint sales call opportunities, lead generation, etc. in support of new/incremental revenue
- Produces and presents customized strategic pricing to customers using senior level negotiation skills
- Collaborates with sales peers, marketing, finance, operations, and other areas as appropriate in identifying issues and initiating/transitioning solutions to support growth of revenue and close of incremental business
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree/equivalent
- Five (5) years of business-to-business sales or related company experience required
- Ability to travel overnight as required
- Heavy overnight travel required
- Candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of domicile or surrounding locations
