Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bison Payments is looking for a Factoring Credit Analyst to evaluate the creditworthiness of account debtors across their commercial factoring portfolio. The role involves conducting credit reviews, analyzing debtor payment behavior, and working closely with other teams to support client onboarding and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct credit reviews on new and existing account debtors
- Pull and interpret business credit reports, trade references, and publicly available financial data
- Analyze debtor payment history, aging trends, and industry risk — with particular attention to oil and gas operators, E&P companies, midstream operators, and oilfield service contractors
- Assess how commodity price cycles, rig count trends, and operator cash flow affect debtor payment behavior and credit quality
- Assign credit limits and flag concentrations or deteriorating credits for senior review
- Work closely with the originations and portfolio management teams to support onboarding of new clients and ongoing monitoring
- Maintain credit files and document findings in accordance with internal policy
- Perform other duties and various special projects as assigned
Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in commercial credit, accounts receivable finance, factoring, or a related lending environment
- Strong working knowledge of business credit bureaus (Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, etc.) and trade payment data
- Ability to read an operator's financial position and understand how production levels, hedging, and commodity exposure flow through to payables behavior
- Comfort analyzing debtor aging schedules and spotting concentration, dilution, or sector-driven deterioration risk
- Attention to detail and the ability to work at volume without sacrificing accuracy
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to present data and reports effectively
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment to achieve client satisfaction and retention goals
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- Prior exposure to oil and gas credits — whether at a bank, oilfield services lender, factoring company, or energy-focused ABL shop — is strongly preferred
