Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tanaq Management Services (TMS) is a public health contractor committed to serving Federal customers. They are seeking a Data Analyst I to support the Translation, Health Education and Evaluation Branch, focusing on data extraction, management, and analysis to evaluate public health programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical data extraction, management, integration, and advanced analytic support including analytic approaches to examine relationships between implementation processes and program outcomes
- Extract APR and performance measurement data; Develop structured analytic datasets; Standardize and harmonize variables across reporting cycles; Maintain documentation of extraction procedures
- Conduct systematic data cleaning and validation; Identify missing or inconsistent data; Implement reproducible validation scripts; Document data quality issues and corrective actions
- Compile DPRP encounter-level datasets; Conduct descriptive and longitudinal analyses; Analyze engagement and outcomes; Generate standardized outputs
- Compile ADA and ADCES datasets; Harmonize data elements; Conduct cross-site comparative analyses; Assess reach and outcomes
- Identify relevant national datasets (as directed); Acquire and integrate secondary datasets; Conduct comparative and contextual analyses; Document limitations and assumptions; Apply analytic methods to assess how implementation factors (e.g., reach, fidelity, adaptation) influence outcomes
- Perform other duties as required
Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis, preferably in public health
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate and provide expert advice and consultation
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues
- Ability to perform complex analytical studies (qualitative and quantitative analysis) and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of programs and recommend improvements
- Experience working with implementation-related measures (e.g., reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and linking implementation variables to outcomes
- Experience analyzing mixed-methods data (e.g., qualitative and quantitative integration)
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the agency, and assigned program or project areas, provide guidance, and advise program administrators and members of the community, respond to inquiries, and interact with high level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations
- Knowledge of the rules, procedures and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) efficiently and effectively
- Ability to use and manage CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively
- Previous experience working with government procedures and guidelines
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Bachelor's degree in public health, data analysis, statistics or related field required
- Experience working at CDC or in a public health setting preferred
- Master's degree, preferably MPH, with a concentration on epidemiology, data analysis or statistics strongly preferred
