Why This Role Matters
Our Assembly & Test Engineering team is the backbone of careerzynith’s hardware excellence. The team translates ambitious product concepts into tangible, high‑quality silicon that powers everything from cloud services to AI research. As a Remote Data Entry & Product Engineering Specialist, you will be the critical link between design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, ensuring that every component, bill of materials (BOM), and test plan is meticulously documented, tracked, and executed.
Role Overview
This full‑time, remote‑first position offers a competitive rate of $27 per hour and the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams located in our global hubs, including Guadalajara, Mexico, and Sunnyvale, USA. You will be responsible for data entry, supply‑chain coordination, test‑plan development, and post‑silicon validation for high‑performance ASICs, GPUs, FPGAs, and related hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Entry: Accurately input and maintain product specifications, BOMs, and engineering change orders (ECOs) in the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Supply‑Chain Coordination: Work with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts for new product introductions (NPIs).
- Test Planning & Execution: Develop, review, and approve comprehensive test plans for complex electronic assemblies, including ASIC DFT (Design‑for‑Test) and ATE (Automated Test Equipment) strategies.
- Yield & Quality Analysis: Lead root‑cause investigations on yield loss, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with Quality Engineers to define reliability targets.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Design Architects, and Reliability Engineers to translate hardware requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Remote Support: Provide virtual assistance to on‑site manufacturing teams, troubleshooting process deviations and ensuring adherence to DFX (Design for Excellence) principles.
- Documentation & Reporting: Generate clear, concise reports on test results, yield trends, and product performance for senior leadership review.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance overall process efficiency.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hardware supply‑chain or test‑engineering environment, preferably within a high‑volume manufacturing setting.
- Hands‑on experience with ODMs, CMs, and component sourcing for server‑grade hardware (e.g., GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs).
- Proficiency in ASIC DFT concepts, ATE test methodologies, and post‑silicon validation processes.
- Strong command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and scripting experience in Python or similar languages.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute detailed test plans for complex electronic systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hardware reliability engineering, including reliability testing and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools such as Siemens Teamcenter or PTC Windchill.
- Knowledge of DFX best practices and experience driving design for manufacturability initiatives.
- Exposure to cloud‑scale data‑center hardware projects and large‑scale server farms.
- Prior involvement in multi‑regional projects, especially coordinating teams across the United States and Mexico.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex technical problems, interpret test data, and propose actionable solutions.
- Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to data accuracy, documentation standards, and process compliance.
- Collaboration: Strong team player who can build relationships with engineers, suppliers, and quality specialists across time zones.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment where priorities shift based on product roadmaps.
- Technical Literacy: Familiarity with hardware design concepts, test equipment, and software tools used in modern silicon validation.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, meet deadlines, and keep stakeholders informed.
