Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and oversee a high-performing team of data professionals, including data engineers, analytics engineers, data analysts, and data scientists
- Act as both a visionary leader and an active practitioner; while you build the team, you will be expected to roll up your sleeves to architect initial data models, write production-quality code, and establish the technical standards that the team will follow
- Serve as the primary owner for the global data strategy, reporting infrastructure, and the evolution of our analytics stack (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, Sigma, Databricks)
- Partner with stakeholders with diverse needs - from AI and Clinical Research teams requiring structured, well-documented datasets to Growth Marketing teams requiring rapid iteration - to serve business needs for data and analytics
- Implement robust data governance, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure that financial, clinical, and operational data is trusted and reliable across all teams
- Serve as the custodian of data privacy and quality. You will implement the standards for data masking, anonymization for research, and robust documentation that ensures our clinical data is as trustworthy as the scans we provide
- Partner closely with the technical engineering organization in owning and implementing analytics infrastructure that supports long-term scalability and reliability
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data science, with a proven track record of leading teams and building data functions from the ground up
- Deep expertise in SQL, data modeling, and modern analytics tools (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, Databricks, Sigma)
- Exceptional ability to translate between highly technical teams and business-focused teams to deliver actionable insights
- Deep understanding of data governance within a regulated environment. Proven track record of designing data access controls, audit trails, and privacy-first architectures that protect sensitive data (e.g., PHI, Protected Health Information) while still enabling business utility
- A forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI and LLMs to accelerate data workflows - from automated SQL generation to intelligent data cataloging, balanced by prudent judgment
- A proven ability to connect data strategy to broader company objectives. Proactively identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, optimize clinic operations, and accelerate R&D
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a 'pioneer' mindset, maintaining momentum through disciplined experimentation
