The Principal Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis, preparing financial plans and forecasts, and providing key support for financial processes within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information
- Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports
- Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level
- Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance
- Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. EVA, NPV analysis)
- Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. revenues, profitability etc)
- Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables (recommending appropriate course of action)
- Develop and utilize sound financial processes
- Prepare monthly business metrics; lead pre-business review meetings; actively participate in full business unit review
- Assist with month end financial close process for Dorado Operations including completion of journal entries, spending and variance analysis, and report preparation
- Key support to annual financial planning processes, including the Annual Operating Plan, Forecasts and Strat Plan, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and cross-functional business priorities
- Annual Budget / Forecast – Provide financial and analytical support to Mfg. Business Units for completion of budgets/forecasts
- Primary point of contact for financial analytics relating to operations cost improvement projects
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality engineering managers in analysis of business unit performance drivers, including but not limited to explanation of variances, metric results, and VIP recognition
- Focus on continuous improvement of all facets of reporting and analysis in Operations Finance
- Evaluate new product integrations and transfers
Skills
- * Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of related work experience
- * Effective Communication Skills (Written & Verbal) with peers and leadership
- * Experience in manufacturing finance or a similar role, with cost accounting experience strongly preferred
- * Customer Service Oriented
- * Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls
- * Strong research and analysis skills / ability
- * Experience interfacing with and conducting business with various functional disciplines (Supply Chain, QA, Engineering, Operations, etc.)
- * Significant experience with SAP Business Systems
- * Demonstrated experience in developing product standard costs, budgets and forecasts including variance analysis
- * Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- * Must be Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- * Process improvement oriented, with demonstrated ability to leverage AI, automation, digital tools, and analytics to enhance reporting and analysis
