Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Quality Data Analyst who will be responsible for data management and quality assurance in a healthcare setting. The role involves maintaining data accuracy, developing dashboards, and supporting performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a working knowledge of internal analytics platforms to generate quality reports, conduct performance opportunity analysis and creates templates for end-user use
- Utilizes a combination of analytical skills to design and maintain complex application systems
- Develops and manages organizational dashboards and scorecards to provide the identified stakeholders with the most recent information available; updates data on regular cadence
- Develops and manages internal data dictionaries with quality measure information to include measure definitions, data sources, and benchmarks/targets
- Establishes and maintains data accuracy and data integrity criteria; validates are data reports
- Provides data support for Ambulatory Clinics; prepares dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports as needed
- Serves as an expert resource for software applications such Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel software and Pivot tables or other related applications
- Ensures all data submission and validation deadlines are met for CMS inpatient, outpatient and electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM )
- Assists with CMS, State, and Joint Commission (ORYX) data submission as needed
- Maintains a working knowledge of all CMS measure types, measure definitions, CMS HQR portal, and pay-for-performance program criteria
- Prepares monthly PowerPoint presentations for the Quality Management Committee using the established reporting schedule and standard presentation template
- Summarizes and analyzes quality and PI data, prepares reports and presentations for stakeholders and designated Committees
- Visually highlights positive performance trends and areas needing immediate corrective action with all data reports, dashboards and scorecards
- Establishes data presentation standards and serves as data management resource for the Department
- Supports performance improvement teams by transforming clinical and operational data into clear, actionable insights; provides the empirical foundation for process changes, helping teams identify inefficiencies, measure outcomes, and optimize workflows to improve patient care
- Assists with patient experience data interpretation and analysis
- Works closely with clinical and business teams as assigned to strategize data solutions that support measurable patient outcomes and long-term business objectives
- Effectively manages assigned projects with a level of independence in performance of the role to include problem resolution
- Actively participates as the department representative on designated multidisciplinary teams and Committees
- Supports clinical operations and clinical initiatives as assigned
- Attends required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
- Other duties as assigned to include coverage of essential departmental functions and services
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a clinically focused area (e.g., Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Health Information Technology, or other healthcare-related field)
- Healthcare of Informatics experience required
- Working knowledge of basic business software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Minitab
- Certification in Cerner, EPIC, Tableau or Power BI
- Green Belt certification or comparable certification
