Magna Legal Services provides end-to-end legal support services to law firms, corporations, and governmental agencies throughout the nation. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting operations through accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards while providing financial analysis and support to management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support the month-end/year-end close process
- Prepare and record revenue journal entries in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards
- Analyze invoices and billing data to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Collaborate with operations and billing teams to resolve revenue discrepancies
- Perform detailed expense reconciliations for corporate credit cards, employee reimbursements, prepaid expenses, and vendor accounts
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reports to analyze financial data and support month-end close and reporting processes
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Research cash application transactions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting procedures
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA Candidate or CPA Eligible
- 5-8 years of corporate accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principle
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- NetSuite ERP experience preferred
- BILL experience preferred
