They are seeking a motivated Data Scientist and Data Engineer to improve real-world modeling and provide insights through data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Set data requirements based on information from internal teams and user research
- Have an eagerness to innovate on the product and identify creative data solutions to improve the user experience
- Analyze how a product solution satisfies market needs and consumer preferences
- Coordinate with stakeholders and other team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication
- Seek new data sources to improve our models
- Ensure quality and accurate fitness of the real world
- Interface between prospective clients, sales, and customer support to respond to specific customer inquiries
- Develop customized reports, stylized and branded for professionalism
- Data entry - Not afraid to spend full days grinding
Skills
- 4-5 Years of Experience in the Following Areas of Data Science & Statistics:
- Geospatial Analysis: Extracting insights from location-based data
- Descriptive & Inferential Statistics: Summarizing data and making data-driven decisions using hypothesis testing and confidence intervals
- Correlation Analysis: Identifying relationships between variables
- Machine Learning: Building models for regression, classification, clustering, and outlier detection
- Time Series Analysis: Analyzing trends, seasonality, and anomalies in temporal data
- Entity Resolution: Matching messy records across sources, linking multiple datasets together
- Data Pipelines & Orchestration: Scheduling, automating, and monitoring workflows that move data reliably end to end
- Data Quality & Validation: Building checks and guardrails so bad data gets caught before it reaches a customer
- Data Visualization: Communicating insights effectively with tools like Tableau, Plotly, and Matplotlib
- ETL: Transforming raw data into usable formats for analysis
- Python & PySpark: Leveraging Python for workflows and PySpark for processing large-scale data
- SQL: Querying and managing relational databases for efficient data access
- Data Entry: Good data in, good data out. Sometimes you just gotta roll up your sleeves
- Alternative Data Paneling and Modeling: Experience with alternative data paneling and modeling, building representative panels from sources like card transaction data, extrapolating samples to the broader population, and applying confidence intervals to grade projection fitness
- Real Estate: A familiarity or understanding of the world of commercial real estate, retail, and storefront economics. A general curiosity and motivation to learn and seek out inspirations from a variety of areas in Commercial Real Estate
- Financial Services: A familiarity or understanding of the world of financial services, capital markets, and institutional investment. A general curiosity and motivation to learn and seek out inspirations from a variety of areas across the financial services landscape
- Databricks: A familiarity or understanding of the Databricks platform, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and building production data pipelines. A general curiosity and motivation to learn and seek out best practices from a variety of areas across the Databricks and broader data engineering ecosystem
