As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will handle general accounting responsibilities, particularly in expense and balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accuracy in all assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly and quarterly close-related activities including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Support the management of lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842, including processing routine expirations, renewals, and period-end adjustments
- Maintain and update corporate debt schedules for various debt instruments and credit facilities, including tracking interest accruals and fee calculations, as assigned
- Oversee or support the fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization reviews, depreciation tracking, roll-forwards, and retirement processing in accordance with corporate policy
- Prepare disclosure schedules for quarterly and annual financial filings
- Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit, and Legal to streamline financial workflows and solve operational challenges
- Participate in departmental projects and initiatives
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Consensus reserves the right to add or change duties at any time
Skills
- BA or BS in accounting or related discipline required
- 2+ years of accounting experience under US GAAP
- 1+ years of Cloud-based accounting software experience (Oracle Fusion is a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including experience using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Deep understanding and practical application of accrual accounting principles under US GAAP
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong project management skills
- Proficient in time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- CPA preferred
- Big 4 experience preferred
