The COPD Foundation is a leading, mission-driven organization dedicated to advancing the understanding, treatment, and management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The Senior Manager, Donor Engagement, Analytics & Strategy is responsible for leading the donor pipeline strategy to drive sustainable philanthropic growth, overseeing donor journey development, engagement analysis, and pipeline optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage the Foundation’s end-to-end donor pipeline, from first-time digital, tribute, and peer-to-peer donors through mid-level, major, and planned giving readiness
- Establish clear donor tiers, movement criteria, and handoff points between digital, mid-level, major, and planned giving efforts
- Develop and manage systematic conversion strategies for tribute donors and other one-time digital donors
- Build and manage a structured mid-level donor strategy, including segmentation, stewardship pathways, and upgrade modeling
- Serve as the primary owner of philanthropy analytics and performance dashboards across Blackbaud platforms
- Analyze donor behavior, retention, upgrade rates, lifetime value, and pipeline velocity using RENXT data and digital engagement metrics
- Partner with the Stewardship and Database Manager, ensuring data integrity supports accurate analytics and reporting
- Provide regular, actionable insights and recommendations to the CPO to inform strategy, forecasting, and resource allocation
- Conduct prospect research and qualification using Blackbaud ResearchPoint, RE NXTdata, and digital engagement indicators
- Identify and prioritize prospects for major and planned giving cultivation in a virtual environment
- Develop prospect scoring, qualification, and readiness frameworks tailored to a digital-first donor base
- Prepare prospect briefings, summaries, and recommendations for the CPO to support cultivation and solicitation
- Analyze donor response and engagement trends across Blackbaud Luminate Online email marketing campaigns
- Partner with Philanthropy, Marketing and Communications teams to refine segmentation, messaging cadence, and donor journeys based on performance data
- Support the optimization of digital stewardship and conversion pathways for first-time, tribute, and mid-level donors
- Translate email and digital engagement data into pipeline movement and donor strategy insights
- Manage early-stage planned giving leads generated through digital tools (e.g., FreeWill)
- Track, segment, and steward planned giving prospects prior to CPO engagement
- Monitor planned giving pipeline health, readiness indicators, and conversion trends
- Analyze donor and participant behavior within Blackbaud TeamRaiser to inform future peer-to-peer strategy
- Support segmentation and conversion of peer-to-peer participants into long-term donors
- Prepare analytics, donor journeys, and pipeline integration to enable future scaling of peer-to-peer fundraising efforts
- Document donor pipeline processes, analytics frameworks, and prospect research methodologies
- Ensure continuity of donor intelligence and strategy to reduce institutional and single-point-of-failure risk
- Support long-term scalability of the philanthropy program in a fully virtual environment
Skills
- 5 - 8 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, advancement services, donor analytics, or pipeline strategy required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Analytics, or related field required
- Demonstrated experience building or managing donor pipelines, segmentation strategies, or digital donor journeys required
- Proficiency with CRM systems and donor databases, and experience working with Blackbaud platforms, including RE NXT, ResearchPoint, Luminate Online, and/or TeamRaiser required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable fundraising strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively across cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights that inform strategy
- Demonstrated systems-thinking approach to problem-solving and process optimization
- Highly developed attention to detail with the ability to connect execution to strategic goals
- Proven success working in a lean, fully virtual environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Experience with planned giving lead pipelines and digital planned giving tools (e.g., FreeWill) preferred
- Familiarity with prospect research and wealth screening methodologies preferred
- Experience supporting mid-level donor or digital-to-major donor conversion programs preferred
- Experience working in healthcare, research, or national nonprofit organizations preferred
