[Remote] Sr. AI Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Robert Half is looking for a highly hands-on Senior AI Engineer to own the full lifecycle of document-derived data. The role involves managing end-to-end IDP pipelines, improving accuracy and performance across pipelines, and implementing scalable RAG systems.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end IDP pipelines: ingestion → OCR → LLM → validation → workflows
• Scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• Conversion of noisy documents into traceable, structured, versioned data
• Schema design for reprocessing, backfills, and lineage
• APIs that expose extracted data and workflow states
• Accuracy, performance, and reliability improvements across pipelines

Skills

• End-to-end IDP pipelines: ingestion → OCR → LLM → validation → workflows
• Scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• Conversion of noisy documents into traceable, structured, versioned data
• Schema design for reprocessing, backfills, and lineage
• APIs that expose extracted data and workflow states
• Accuracy, performance, and reliability improvements across pipelines
• OCR + LLM pipelines using tools like Tesseract, Textract, or Form Recognizer
• RAG systems including chunking, embeddings, and reranking
• Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or Chroma
• Strong Python backend engineering with FastAPI or Flask
• Workflow automation and validation logic
• Prompt engineering and orchestration
• LLM fine-tuning, ideally with LoRA/adapters
• Semantic and hybrid search
• Evaluation frameworks focused on accuracy and hallucination reduction
• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Guidance, or custom orchestration layers
• Strong experience enforcing structured outputs via JSON schemas, Pydantic, function/tool calling, or constrained decoding
• Experience designing multi-pass extraction and validation workflows
• Familiarity with evaluation and monitoring tools such as LangSmith, RAGAS, Weights & Biases, or custom frameworks
• Experience across multiple LLM providers, including OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models
