As an Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while leading a dedicated team. You will partner with finance leadership to maintain efficient accounting processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, healthcare accounting standards, and organizational policies
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Assist with annual audits, cost reports, and regulatory filings; serve as a key contact for auditors
- Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management for assigned accounting staff
- Coordinate workload distribution and prioritize deadlines to meet reporting requirements
- Collaborate with finance, revenue cycle, supply chain, payroll, and operational leaders to resolve accounting issues
- Support system initiatives such as new entity onboarding, system conversions, or process standardization
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- 1 year of supervisory experience (Required)
- 5 years of related experience (Required)
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) (Preferred but not required)
- Experience with client server based financial systems (Preferred)
- Healthcare and/or public accounting experience (Preferred)
