Job description: Position Title: Peer Training and Placement Program Trainer (REMOTE, but must reside in San Diego or Imperial County)

Company Description: NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties (National alliance on Mental Illness) is a nonprofit organization that provides free education, support services, and advocacy to improve the quality of everyone affected by mental illness.

Program Information: The Peer Training and Placement Program supports peers and family members that are seeking to become state certified peer support specialists by teaching the Medi-Cal Peer Support Certification (PSSC) Training. The Trainer works with the Support Trainer under Program Manager Supervision.

Primary Responsibilities/Function: The Peer Training and Placement Program Trainer is responsible for presenting online learning by facilitating 80-hour Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (PSSC) Training, 13-class curricula, live, online. Engage in community outreach to San Diego and Imperial Counties for participant recruitment public behavioral health system, providers, organizations, community centers, schools, and businesses. Follow the Peer Training and Placement Program experience trajectory from outreach and registration to class facilitation to alum follow-up for six months after the class, providing remote career counseling support where appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities: Accountability: Reports to the Peer Training and Placement Program Manager and provides support to Trainers.

Expected salary: $22 per hour
