Position Summary
Heritage Pension Advisors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Retirement Combo Plan Administrator to manage the full-cycle administration (A–Z) of a book of small DB/DC combo retirement plans. This position is 100% remote and open to candidates in any U.S. time zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage full-cycle administration for a book of small Defined Benefit/Defined Contribution combo plans.
- Interpret actuarial valuation results and communicate findings with actuaries and clients.
- Prepare annual valuation packages, including valuation reports, funding notices, certifications, and IRS Forms 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA , and PBGC premium filings .
- Conduct and review nondiscrimination testing for DB, Cash Balance, and combo plans (e.g., 410(b), 401(a)(4), 401(a)(26), gateway testing ).
- Design and update plan provisions for existing and prospective clients.
- Calculate projections, contributions, and participant distributions; review corresponding forms and documentation.
- Review all reports, filings, disclosures, and communications for accuracy before delivery to clients or agencies.
- Research and resolve technical, regulatory, or compliance issues.
- Deliver proactive, client-focused communication and guidance.
- Participate in continuing education, such as webcasts and ASPPA exams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of DB and DC plan administration experience, ideally within a TPA environment.
- Experience with Datair software preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate valuation and trust accounting/asset reconciliation work.
- Strong understanding of IRS and DOL regulations and related filings.
- Ability to analyze plan documents and recommend design or compliance revisions.
- Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
Pay Transparency Statement
Anticipated Salary Range: $70,000–$95,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Heritage Pension Advisors, Inc. provides a comprehensive total compensation package, including base pay and a full benefits program.
