The Senior SEO & GEO Consultant will manage a portfolio of B2B clients, providing strategic SEO and GEO guidance while also being involved in hands-on execution and client relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Own senior relationships across a portfolio of B2B software clients — the CMO or VP of Demand Gen should think of you as a trusted advisor, not a consultant they tolerate
- Lead strategy presentations, quarterly reviews, and workshops that connect organic search performance to revenue and pipeline — not just traffic and rankings
- Navigate client organizations with multiple stakeholders, building alignment across content, product marketing, and engineering without relying on authority
- Contribute to account growth and, where relevant, new business conversations — you’ll know our clients’ businesses well enough to spot the next problem worth solving
- Develop full-funnel organic search strategies for B2B buyers with long sales cycles, high education levels, and multi-stakeholder decision processes
- Conduct and own technical audits, content gap analyses, and competitive reviews — then prioritize with a clear, business-grounded rationale
- Stay hands-on: you can write a content brief, create a content plan, or dig into Analytics yourself when the work requires it
- Direct and quality-check output from junior team members and, where relevant, client-side SEO practitioners
- Lead GEO strategy across your portfolio — auditing how AI engines represent clients’ brands and categories, and building systematic plans to improve it
- Advise on content structure, schema, entity coverage, and source authority as levers to improve citation presence in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Bing Copilot
- Audit and improve brand presence using AI visibility monitoring platforms and bring both competitive and platform-level insight into client strategy in real time
- Help senior clients build an internal understanding of and investment in GEO as a channel, not a buzzword
- Stay current on how the major AI platforms ingest, synthesize, and cite B2B content, and bring that knowledge into client work in real time
- Help develop and sharpen the methodologies, frameworks, and audit processes that define how we work — your fingerprints should be on how this firm gets better
- Mentor junior consultants; we’re small enough that your influence on the team’s culture and craft actually matters
- Contribute to our external point of view where relevant — writing, speaking, or simply being someone whose thinking our clients want to share
Skills
- 7+ years of SEO experience, with substantial client-facing consultancy or agency experience serving B2B software or SaaS
- Demonstrated credibility with senior demand generation and marketing leaders — you've built real trust with CMOs and VPs, not just delivered slide decks to them
- Hands-on technical SEO depth you can deploy directly: schema markup, crawl analysis, JavaScript SEO, Core Web Vitals, log file review
- Active, working knowledge of GEO — you've audited and improved how AI engines represent a brand in practice, not just in theory
- Comfort managing a portfolio of clients simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong communicator in every register: sharp written strategy documents, confident executive presentations, and credible peer-level conversation with a demand gen leader who knows their numbers
- Proficiency with Semrush, Ahrefs, BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, GA4, Google Search Console, and comfort building or interpreting reporting in Looker, Tableau, or similar
