The SMB Account Executive role is designed for a seasoned professional who will own the full customer lifecycle, focusing on converting warm demand and managing renewals within the SMB segment.
Responsibilities
- Own the full inbound SMB sales cycle: qualification, discovery, demo, negotiation, and close
- Manage and grow a renewal book of business while identifying expansion opportunities
- Monitor usage, engagement, and risk signals to proactively improve retention
- Become a product expert capable of leading high-value conversations with product and technical leaders
- Develop and refine scalable sales playbooks, workflows, and automation strategies
- Maintain strong pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and deal discipline
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Content, and Platform teams
Skills
- 2–4 years of B2B SaaS sales or account management experience
- Proven success in high-velocity SMB sales cycles ($10K–$30K ACV typical)
- Experience closing transactional deals and managing renewals
- Strong autonomy, ownership mentality, and accountability
- Clear, concise communicator—especially in written and asynchronous environments
- U.S.-based and authorized to work (no visa sponsorship)
- Demonstrated success managing renewals and expansions, not just net-new logos
- Experience selling to product or technical buyers (PMs, VPs of Product, Product Ops)
- An operational mindset with strong systems thinking
- Clear examples of using AI tools to scale productivity, automate workflows, or improve pipeline management
- Comfort operating in early-stage or fast-moving SaaS environments where process-building matters
- A data-driven approach to decision-making and performance improvement
